Good news. The Iraqi government has buckled and said it didn't mean to dissolve the Iraqi football federation after all - even though everyone, including Iraq's national coach, knew that was what it originally meant.
An actual smart move from Maliki's government, given the way Iraq's win in the last Asian Cup brought the entire nation together briefly. Iraq needs all the togetherness it can get but the central government's elite, trying to hang on to all the power they can get, haven't exactly been a shining beacon in that regard.
