The Washington Post today has a long puff-piece on John Yoo's continued defense of his indefensible rubber-stamping of the Bush/Cheney regime's torturing ways. At the same time, it has an editorial saying that only low-level CIA interrogators who went beyond Yoo's torture guidelines should be criminally investigated and prosecuted by the Justice Department.
Thus speaks the DC Villagers' "established wisdom" that Obama and his cabinet are listening to. Marcy Wheeler and Glenn Greenwald take the WaPo to task, each in their turn. As Glenn puts it "The Washington Post endorses Abu Ghraib scapegoating for torture." Both must reads.
Update: Guess who's paying a GOP-shill of a private lawyer to defend Yoo in a lawsuit filed against him by Jose Padilla? You are.
