Yesterday, 107 nations backed a non-binding UN resolution calling for a moritorium on the death penalty.
Not a ban, not a binding agreement. More "wishful thinking".
The US was one of the 38 nations that voted against the resolution. It was joined in opposition by China, Iran, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Egypt and other nations with less-than-stellar human rights records.
Nice company you're keeping, America.
