I was going to do up a post on the release of more of the hacked emails and other documents from the Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia, but I think I�ll just outsource this one to Brendan DeMelle, who has a thorough round-up of the coverage and what you need to know about this latest dumping of additional documents from the original hack.
In the end, it appears to be a poorly disguised attempt to derail the upcoming UN climate summit. (Though given the certainty of a complete lack of action from the U.S. and the likely attempts at outright sabotage from countries like Canada, why even bother at this point?)
More interesting to me is the apparent lack of effort by the UK police to track down the hackers themselves.

Except for the delusional - I prefer this term for deniers, think it originated down under - this latests silliness really is a non event. That said I expect nothing to come from the forth coming meetings. We, here in Canada, as you know, are now an absolute utter international disgrace but will sent our former "journalist" now Environmental propagandist Peter Kent to mouth nonsense aimed at soothing the Albertan and national Post souls. BOs representatives, its an election year - christ it's always an election year in freedom land, will polish turds & likely try to blame something on Iran at which time the grovelling Canadians & Kippers will join their chorus.
ReplyDeletePersonally now I think we are fucked and given that we've evolved into exceptional arses and those that grovel after those asses maybe it's a good thing. Hope does spring eternal but not with the collection of nitwits, motherfuckers and plane nincompoops the human race is currently stuck with as so-called leaders. Politics is essential in any society but wouldn't it be great if just now the human race actually had some politicians and not the greatest collection of schmuck careerist throw back pretenders. Jesus H Christ you'd almost think there was a divine plan and rational humans are watching it unfold: get the suckers to a level of intelligence and organization; then infect them with shills, flimflam men, monsters, the ordinary insane, all masquerading as leaders, and watch them self destruct.
I wish I could argue with you, geoff, I really do. Best I can do is to say that I think there are actually a few decent politicians out there, but with far too little power and influence to actually make much of a difference.
